Yamaha VMAX 1700, which was launched on June 4, 2008, is Yamaha’s third international model in India. The new VMAX 1700 was launched in India on September 20, 2009. Known for its powerful V4 engine, the power cruiser is ruling since 1985. Price is definitely not an issue for a bike of this class and once you step over it, you are sure to get spell bound by it. The bike was unvieled by bollywood superstar John Abaraham in India. The new VMAX is claimed to gotten over the problems that the previous V-MAX faced. The V-Boost on the original VMAX is now replaced by YCC-I (Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake) that shortens the length of the intake system. VMAX is fitted with a separate driver and a step-up pillion seat, which are not too comfortable. It has a length, breadth and height of 2395 mm, 820 mm and 1190 mm. VMAX 1700 weighs 310 kilograms. Fitted with a 15-liter fuel tank, VMAX 1700 gives a mileage of around 12 kilometers per liter. It reaches 0-100 kilometers per hour in just 2.70, which is extraordinary. Yamaha’s giant is fitted with tubeless tires from Bridgestone. The 5-spoke black alloy wheels look superb. Suspension in the new VMAX 1700 is undoubtedly one of the best amongst the bikes of this segment. The new VMAX is an improved version of the old V-MAX as far as handling is concerned. With a low ground clearance of just 140 mm, it becomes an easier bike to handle. The Anti-Braking System (ABS) along with Engine Control Unit (ECU) ensures comfortable handling in different terrains. The massive 320 mm disc brake on the front tire works impressively.
